Terms of Use
Effective: 2026-09-28
Welcome to Mori's Korea (moryskorea.com). These terms are the rules for using the site. We've kept them short and plain — the details about points and privacy live on their own pages, linked below.
The short version: the magazine and videos are free to read and watch, and you never need an account for that. Accounts, comments, and Mori Points are opening in stages. What we publish is general information, not professional advice. Be kind, don't misuse the site, and we'll do our best to keep it running well.
1. Who and what these terms cover
Mori's Korea ("we," "us") runs this site. By using it, you agree to these Terms of Use together with our Privacy Policy, the Mori Points Terms, and the Affiliate Disclosure. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. What's open now, and what's coming
Right now the magazine, the videos, Mori's Picks, and this Help & FAQ area are open to everyone. Accounts, comments, and Mori Points are opening soon. The parts of these terms about accounts, comments, and points apply from the day each of those features goes live.
3. Using the site
You're welcome to read, watch, and share links to our pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't:
- use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools in a way that overloads or disrupts the site (ordinary search-engine indexing is fine);
- try to get into parts of the site or its systems that aren't meant to be public, or probe or test our security without our written permission — if you find a security problem, email us instead;
- interfere with the site or with other people's use of it, or use it for anything unlawful;
- copy and republish our articles, photos, or characters wholesale, or use them commercially, without asking first (see Our content).
4. Accounts
An account is optional and free. When accounts open:
- Age: you must be at least 14 to have an account. If the law where you live sets a higher age, or requires a parent's or guardian's permission at your age, you must meet that requirement too. We ask for your birth year once, right after you first sign in, to check this. If you're under 14, account features such as points and comments stay off — you can still read the magazine and watch videos.
- Signing in: you sign in with your Google account. You're responsible for keeping that account secure and for what happens under your Mori's Korea account. One account per person, and please don't share it. Tell us if you think someone else is using yours.
- Your data: what we collect and how you can see or delete it is in the Privacy Policy. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
5. Comments and other things you post
When comments open, you can comment on magazine articles. Your comment appears next to your nickname — we don't show your real name or email address.
- Yours, with our permission to show it: you keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, format, and translate your comment on the site and in previews of it, and to quote it with your nickname when we talk about the site (for example in an article or a post). The license lasts for as long as your comment is on the site. You confirm that what you post is yours to share and doesn't break anyone else's rights.
- Please don't post: anything illegal; harassment, hate, threats, or bullying; sexual content involving minors or anything that exploits or endangers them; other people's private information; spam, ads, or links to scams or malware; content that infringes someone's copyright, trademark, or privacy; or anything that pretends to be someone else — including Mori, our team, or another reader.
- Nicknames: choose a nickname that isn't offensive or misleading. Names that imitate Mori's Korea or its team (for example "Mori," "admin," or "staff") aren't allowed.
- Moderation: new comments are checked automatically and may be held for review before other readers see them. We may hide or remove any comment, limit how often you can post, and close accounts that break these rules repeatedly or seriously. We don't have to pre-screen everything, and we can't promise every problem is caught. If you think we got a decision wrong, write to us.
6. Reporting a comment or other content
If something breaks these rules, email us at moryskorea@gmail.com with the page address, the nickname and roughly when it was posted, and what's wrong. We'll look at it and act where these terms or the law call for it.
7. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on the site — a comment, a photo, or text — infringes your copyright, email us at moryskorea@gmail.com with: your name and contact details; a description of the work you own; the page address where the material appears; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by you, your agent, or the law; and a statement that the information you're giving is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner. We may remove the material and tell the person who posted it. We may close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe.
8. Mori Points
Mori Points are a thank-you benefit we give for activities and events we choose. They aren't money or property, they have no cash value, they can't be bought, sold, or transferred, and they can expire. The Mori Points Terms explain the details and are part of these terms. If the two ever conflict about points, the Points Terms win.
9. Information on the site isn't professional advice
Our articles, videos, and guides are general information and personal recommendations about Korea — food, culture, beauty, travel, and everyday life. They are not legal, immigration, medical, financial, or other professional advice, and they are not a substitute for the official source. Rules (like entry requirements, visas, and K-ETA), opening hours, prices, event dates, and safety conditions change, and we can be wrong or out of date. Before you rely on something important, check the official source or a qualified professional, and use your own judgment when you travel. If you spot a mistake, please tell us on the Help & FAQ page.
10. Links, partners, and other people's services
The site links to and embeds other people's services — YouTube videos, shopping and travel partners, official websites. They have their own terms and privacy practices, and we don't control or endorse everything on them. If you buy or book something through a partner, that's between you and the partner: prices, availability, delivery, refunds, and support are theirs to handle. Mori's Korea doesn't currently take part in any affiliate program; if that changes, we'll say so on the Affiliate Disclosure page before any affiliate link goes live.
11. Our content
Unless a page says otherwise, the site's original text, illustrations, design, and the Mori's Korea characters belong to us. Photos, videos, and other third-party material are credited on the page and on the Credits page and stay under their owners' licenses. You may link to our pages and quote short excerpts with credit and a link back. For anything more — reposting articles, using our characters or images, or any commercial use — please ask us first.
12. Changes, suspension, and ending
Mori's Korea is a growing project. We may change, pause, or stop any part of the site or any feature, including accounts, comments, and points; when a change materially affects members, we'll give reasonable notice as described under Changes to these terms and in the Mori Points Terms. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if you break these terms, misuse the site or points, or if we need to for legal or security reasons. You can stop using the site whenever you like and can ask us to delete your account. Sections that by their nature should keep applying afterward — such as the license to a comment while it stays on the site, the disclaimers, and the limits of liability — do.
13. No guarantees, and limits of liability
We work to keep the site accurate and running, but we provide it "as is" and "as available." We can't promise it will always be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that everything on it is complete or current. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by things outside our control — such as outages, third-party services, or decisions you make based on what you read — and our total responsibility for any claim about the site is limited to what you paid us to use it, which for a free site is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law — for example for intentional or grossly negligent harm, or for death or personal injury — or the rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law where you live. If points are lost or recorded wrongly, the Mori Points Terms explain how we fix that.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes we can't settle by talking them through go to the competent courts of the Republic of Korea. If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away the protections you have under the mandatory law of the country where you live, or any right the law gives you to use the courts there.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version goes on this page with a new Effective date. A change takes effect at least 7 days after we post it — or at least 30 days after, if it's less favorable to existing members — unless we need to make it sooner for legal or security reasons. If you keep using the site after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, stop using the site, and you can ask us to delete your account.
