Gangnam's Free K-Pop Concert Is October 4 β€” PSY, ZEROBASEONE and Five More, and Yes, You Need a Ticket

Seven acts, one boulevard, a ticket price of zero (plus a 3,000-won booking fee) β€” but getting in runs through a Ticketlink booking, an ID check, and a wristband. Here's what's happening at the 2026 Gangnam Festival on October 4, and how to plan around it.

Quick Glossary
Dosan-daero (λ„μ‚°λŒ€λ‘œ)The wide Gangnam boulevard the festival takes over β€” named for the independence activist Ahn Chang-ho, whose pen name was Dosan and whose memorial park, Dosan Park, sits along it. The concert stage is on this road, in front of Hyundai Motorstudio Seoul.
Ipjang palji (μž…μž₯ νŒ”μ°Œ)The entry wristband handed out at the festival's ticket booth once your mobile ticket and ID have been checked β€” the festival site lists this as the first step of concert day.
Random play dance (λžœλ€ν”Œλ ˆμ΄λŒ„μŠ€)A K-pop fan-culture game: short clips of songs play in random order, and anyone who knows the choreography dances along. The festival's version, on October 4, needs no sign-up.

What's Happening

Gangnam Festival K-Pop Concert 2026

Gangnam is throwing its own festival October 3 to 5 β€” the 15th edition, hosted by the Gangnam-gu district office β€” and the big night is Sunday, October 4: a K-pop concert on Dosan-daero, the boulevard in front of Hyundai Motorstudio Seoul. Seven acts are on the bill, with PSY reported as the closing act. Yes, the artist behind 2012's "Gangnam Style" is playing on an actual Gangnam street.

Quick facts
  • Sunday, October 4, 2026 β€” main show 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; gates open at 4 p.m. (subject to change on site)
  • Dosan-daero, in front of Hyundai Motorstudio Seoul, Gangnam-gu
  • Every zone is priced at 0 won on Ticketlink, plus a 3,000-won booking fee per ticket; limit of two tickets per person
  • Age limit: 15 and over, per the Ticketlink listing
  • Lineup: PSY, ZEROBASEONE, P1Harmony, ALPHA DRIVE ONE, LUN8, KiiiKiii and SAY MY NAME. The festival notes the lineup is subject to change, and no running order has been announced

Free, But Not a Walk-Up

The word "free" is doing less work than it sounds like. Here's how the booking actually works.

You Book a Ticket That Costs Nothing

Tickets went on sale on Ticketlink on September 22 at 8 p.m. KST, and the listing prices every zone at 0 won. Two of the zones, A-1 and B-1, make you pick an entry number when you book, and that number is your order of entry on the day. The other zones have no numbers β€” those are first come, first served at the venue. The listing shows a booking button and a booking deadline of 6 p.m. on October 4, but it doesn't show how many spots are left, so check the page itself for what's still available.

There's an English version of the Ticketlink page, plus an English-language help line at 1644-3850. The 3,000-won booking fee is refunded only if you cancel on the day you book; after that it isn't, according to Ticketlink's cancellation terms. Wheelchair seats were released separately on September 23, through Ticketlink's customer service line only (1588-7890).

Concert Day, Step by Step

112:00 β€” Ticket Booth Opens

  • According to the festival's running order, staff check your mobile ticket and ID at the booth, then hand out an entry wristband. The site says "ID" without spelling out which documents count for visitors from abroad, so carry your passport to be safe.

216:00 β€” Gates Open

  • Entry starts at 4 p.m., with a check for prohibited items at the gate. The festival marks this time as subject to change depending on conditions on site.

318:00 β€” Main Show, Until 21:00

  • The winners of the festival's Global K-Pop Dance Championship, decided the day before, open the stage from 6 p.m., ahead of the seven acts.

Around the Concert

The festival lists 17 programs across the weekend. The ones a visitor is most likely to plan around, from the festival's own program pages:

Saturday, October 3

  • 11:00–12:00 β€” K-Pop Dance Workshop, with pre-registration (on-site entry also available)
  • 12:30–14:40 β€” Global K-Pop Dance Championship final in front of Dosan Park: nine teams from the U.S. preliminaries compete, and the top three earn a spot on the concert stage
  • 15:00–16:00 β€” K-Pop Makeup Show, in front of Dosan Park
  • 16:00–18:00 β€” Grand Parade, from Cheongdam Intersection to Dosan Park Intersection
  • 19:00–21:30 β€” Family Concert with seven acts, followed by an EDM party until 22:30

Sunday, October 4

  • 13:00–17:00 β€” Fashion & Beauty Festa runway shows in front of Dosan Park
  • 14:00–15:00 β€” Global Food Cook-off: ten global chefs, judged by 100 visitors tasting on the spot
  • 16:00–17:00 β€” Random Play Dance with the creator Chumchuneun Gomdol; no sign-up, just show up
  • 18:00–19:00 β€” Cheongdam Hair & Makeup Show
  • 18:00–21:00 β€” the K-Pop Concert itself

Both Days, 10:00–22:00

  • Beer Festa and Food Festa near Hakdong Intersection, plus a Fashion & Beauty pop-up in front of Dosan Park with Olive Young and Seoul Fashion Hub brands
  • An Open Stage with busking, DJ sets and beer-festival events

Monday, October 5

  • The festival winds down with the Gangnam International Peace Marathon at 8 a.m. and a temple music concert at Bongeunsa at 6 p.m., according to Seoul's festival portal

The festival's program pages don't spell out entry rules for the stages other than the K-Pop Concert. Two Korean news outlets (Herald Business and Asia Economy, both September 17) report that the Saturday Family Concert is free, first come, first served, with no reservation β€” but check each program's page before you count on walking up.

If You're Going

1Plan a Subway Trip, Not a Taxi

  • Gangnam-gu is asking visitors to take the subway. From midnight going into October 3 until 5 a.m. on October 5, the stretch of Dosan-daero between Hakdong Intersection and Dosan Park Intersection is closed to regular traffic in both directions, buses included (one fire lane stays open for access to nearby buildings), and bus routes that normally use it detour via Apgujeong-ro and Hakdong-ro. Type "Hakdong Intersection" or "Dosan Park Intersection" into your map app to see where the closure begins and ends.

2Trust 6 p.m. β€” Not 7

  • Seoul's festival portal lists the K-Pop Concert at 7 p.m., but the festival's own site, the Ticketlink listing and Korean news reports all say 6 p.m. Plan around 6, and treat 4 p.m. as the earliest you can get in.

3Charge Your Phone Before You Leave

  • Your ticket is a mobile ticket, and you'll need it at the booth. Keep the battery topped up β€” and keep the booking confirmation somewhere you can find it.

Mark Your Calendar

Bookings close at 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, the concert wraps by 9 p.m. that night, and Dosan-daero reopens to traffic at 5 a.m. on Monday. Everything above comes from the festival's official pages and the Ticketlink listing as of September 28 β€” plans and lineups can change, so check the festival's program page before you go.

Comment prompt
Which act on this lineup would you line up early for?
MoriMori: I've stood in enough big Seoul crowds to have exactly one rule: eat before you go and charge your phone all the way, because your ticket lives on it and so does your ride home. And I'll admit it β€” if PSY does "Gangnam Style" on a real Gangnam street, I'm not going to be able to stand still. Who are you hoping to catch?
